How To Change My Actiontec Router To 5ghz

  1. Log in to the extender. See
    • Logging in to the Actiontec WCB3000N wireless extender
    • Logging in to the Actiontec WEB6000Q wireless extender
  2. Click Wireless Setup.Actiontec wireless extender - Wireless Setup
  3. Click Wireless Security.

  4. Enter the countersign and security settings for each band, two.4GHz and 5GHz. We suggest using a different wireless proper name than what is on the modem. See Setting up your in-home Wi-Fi .

  7. Turn off Wi-Fi on the Actiontec gateway (optional, but recommended):
    1. Log in to the Actiontec gateway.
    2. Click Wireless Setup > Basic Settings.
    3. Under Wireless Radio, cull Disable.
    4. Click Apply.
