How To Change My Actiontec Router To 5ghz

1. Log in to the extender. See
   • Logging in to the Actiontec WCB3000N wireless extender
   • Logging in to the Actiontec WEB6000Q wireless extender
     
2. Click Wireless Setup.
3. Click Wireless Security.

   

4. Enter the countersign and security settings for each band, two.4GHz and 5GHz. We suggest using a different wireless proper name than what is on the modem. See Setting up your in-home Wi-Fi .

   Notation:

   This is where yous tin change your Wi-Fi countersign(s) at any fourth dimension.

   Y'all'll need to:

   Enter or choose these settings in Wireless Security:

   Item/field	Setting (employ the same for both wireless bands)
   Wireless Operation Frequency	2.4GHz / 5GHz
   Multiple SSID	SSID1
   Wireless Network Name	You can go out the default names as is (for example, Actiontec-1234-two.4G) or change them. If you choose to change them, be sure to keep "two.4G" and "5G" in the names and so you know which is which when connecting to Wi-Fi in your home.

   Wireless Data Rate	Auto

   • Cull 2.4GHz at the top, choose your settings, enter the countersign y'all want, and click Apply. Await for the settings to annals.

7. Turn off Wi-Fi on the Actiontec gateway (optional, but recommended):
   1. Log in to the Actiontec gateway.
   2. Click Wireless Setup > Basic Settings.
   3. Under Wireless Radio, cull Disable.
   4. Click Apply.

      Yous'll see Status: Disabled under Wireless on the gateway's dwelling house screen.
